I've done analog splits to both preamps, so I can hotswap soft patches between them with same gains etc so you would need to remote control the X32R from FOH to get access to headamp gain.

And for the record the DL151 definitely has Midas PRO preamps, in case you're skeptical about the DL16 and DL32 The preamp controls for this configuration are the AES50A 1 through 32 on the X32 primary console So for your example, since the X32 Rack is in between the stageboxes and X32 FOH, it would control all of it's preamps as well as the stageboxes downstream.
